Creative Technology Group (CT) and NEP Sweetwater (Sweetwater), both long-standing audiovisual powerhouses under parent company NEP Group, are proud to announce a bold new chapter: the launch of CT Film & Entertainment. This new division, operating under the Creative Technology brand, unites Sweetwater’s creative leadership and deep industry expertise with Creative Technology’s vast international platform.
Sweetwater – known for over 30 years of trailblazing work across film, broadcast and live entertainment – will lead the charge, bringing its wealth of production workflow knowledge and signature hands-on approach. Together, the united team at CT Film & Entertainment will deliver unprecedented technological support to film and television productions of all sizes, anywhere in the world. This move also supports the expansion of the company’s service offerings, from video display to now video, lighting, audio, RF, rigging and more.
As the entertainment industry becomes more global, so will the new CT Film & Entertainment division.
“This is the world we have been wanting to compete in,” says Ron Drews, President of NEP Sweetwater. “With so many productions going international, this gives us the opportunity to provide the same level of service in Ireland, Dubai, China, Holland – and far beyond – as we do here in the United States.”
With over 40 offices across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, CT Film & Entertainment will be built for scale – offering a powerful combination of global reach, expanded inventory and technical precision. Expanded technology offerings will include lighting, audio, and rigging. From LED volumes and in-camera VFX to live shows and studio builds, this division is poised to support the next generation of content creation.
“Not only do we have access to more locations, but we also have an expanded inventory providing us with opportunities we have not enjoyed in the past,” shares Drews.
“I’ve known Ron for over 29 years. We worked together when we were first starting out, so for our companies to join forces now is incredible,” reflects Creative Technology Group U.S. President, Herb Brandt. “We will be stronger together, never losing sight of where we came from. This move strengthens both brands and allows us to offer even more to our film and entertainment clients. Joining forces isn’t just growth—it’s a sign of respect for the journey we’ve shared over all these years.”
With a proven track record supporting large-scale productions from The Voice and American Idol to The Grammys and the Golden Globes, and as pioneers of LED volume workflows and in-camera VFX for films like Superman and Solo: A Star Wars Story, the CT Film & Entertainment team will continue to push the boundaries of modern production.
The Sweetwater brand will officially transition to the Creative Technology Group and CT Film & Entertainment brand on January 1, 2026. The newly named division will continue its current projects while expanding into new markets, maintaining its specialized focus on delivering high-impact technology and production support for storytellers worldwide.
