Creative Technology and the DP World Tour

A Relationship Built on Innovation and Trust

Since 2009, Creative Technology (CT) has been a steadfast collaborator to the DP World Tour, delivering the event technology solutions that help bring golf’s truly global Tour to life for fans around the world. Over more than a decade, our relationship has grown and evolved, built on a shared commitment to innovation, quality, and delivering exceptional spectator experiences.

The DP World Tour is renowned for its ambitious global schedule, with events spanning 26 countries and featuring the very best in international golf talent. Such a wide-ranging, high-profile calendar demands event technology that is both consistent and flexible; capable of adapting to new venues, growing audiences, and the Tour’s own evolving vision. At CT, we pride ourselves on meeting that challenge, year after year.

Supporting Golf’s Global Tour

From coastal links in Europe to desert courses in the Middle East, the DP World Tour’s diverse schedule requires a sports production collaborator who can deliver at any location. CT’s global network of offices and inventory ensures we can provide consistent, high-quality service wherever the Tour hosts its tournaments.

Our team’s experience and training also ensure that unexpected challenges, such as fibre damage on golf courses, can be resolved quickly and with minimal disruption. It’s this hands-on expertise that gives the Tour confidence in how we deliver, allowing the focus to remain on the world-class sporting action.

Ultimately, our long-standing relationship with the DP World Tour is much more than delivering screens and systems. Our goal is to support the Tour in making each event special for fans, by highlighting the game’s global appeal, promoting fantastic venues, and constantly improving how the sport is experienced.

Operating from our central control facility, TTV blends real-time updates, live broadcast content, dynamic graphics, and sponsor messaging into an engaging, cohesive feed.

Tournament Television: Because watching should feel like being there

While delivering equipment and infrastructure is crucial, it’s the on-site spectator experience that sets events apart. At the heart of our work with the DP World Tour is our Tournament Television (TTV) service. Delivered across all tiers of the Tour’s events, this service transforms the on-site experience for spectators and hospitality guests alike.

Operating from our Media 1 hub, TTV blends real-time updates, live broadcast content, dynamic graphics, and sponsor messaging into an engaging, cohesive feed. This is distributed to:

  • Hospitality televisions via robust IPTV networks
  • On-course LED leaderboards with live scores and player stats
  • Village LED screens showcasing replays, live leaderboards, and sponsor content

We’ve invested heavily in the quality of this service over the years, including the introduction of our proprietary Mercury Sport 2.0 software platform. Mercury Sport doesn’t simply display data, it turns scoring and event information into compelling, spectator-friendly graphics that keep fans connected.

Evolving with the Tour

One of the defining strengths of our relationship with the DP World Tour is our shared commitment to innovation.

Instead, we work closely with the Tour to evolve our solutions to match changing needs and expectations.

Recent seasons have seen significant upgrades. The Panasonic Kairos system, integrated in 2022, has revolutionised content delivery, enabling fully bespoke outputs tailored to a variety of screen types and configurations. This flexibility is essential when delivering premium hospitality experiences across the DP World Tour.

We’ve also introduced Prototype Greenside Leaderboards, large-format LED screens designed to enhance the on-course viewing experience with live scores, player data, and crisp graphics. These leaderboards are built with operational efficiency in mind, using modular support structures (T10 and M16) that are safe, durable, and quick to deploy across varied terrain. Standardising these systems ensures consistent branding, visual quality, and efficient logistics throughout the European leg of the Tour.

Best-in-Class IPTV Networks

Since the beginning of our relationship with the Tour, CT has delivered IPTV hospitality TV networks that set the standard in reliability and quality.

We continue to invest in new hardware, such as the Zeevee STBi3 set-top boxes and Appear TV / Kiloview 3G encoders, to ensure our delivery remains industry-leading. Our IPTV networks also take advantage of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, simplifying installation while reducing power requirements at each display.

This approach makes it quick and easy to set up and pack down, even on challenging sites, while still delivering a smooth, professional experience for spectators.

Our team’s experience and training also ensure that unexpected challenges, such as fibre damage on golf courses, can be resolved quickly and with minimal disruption. It’s this hands-on expertise that gives the Tour confidence in how we deliver.

High-Impact LED Technology

CT has always recognised the importance of delivering clear, engaging visual content on-course. As display technology has advanced, so have we.

Our most recent contract cycle saw us supply a 4.8mm LED product. With growing demand for even higher quality, we’re now moving to a finer 3.9mm pixel pitch, improving image clarity and overall visual impact across all LED displays.

By investing in certified modular structures and standardising our setup methods, we ensure each display meets the same high standards, no matter where it’s set up.

On-course leaderboards designed for impact

CT’s on-course leaderboards are engineered to provide a richer, more engaging experience for fans. Mounted on bespoke support structures, these leaderboards are built to withstand varied weather conditions while delivering large-format, high-resolution graphics.

Powered by Mercury Sport 2.0, they feature locally rendered content for real-time updates, using flexible data delivery options including cabled networks, 4G, or even Starlink satellite connections. This ensures reliable performance even in remote or challenging environments.

For the Long Term

Ultimately, our long-standing relationship with the DP World Tour is about much more than delivering screens and systems. Our goal is to support the Tour in making each event special for fans, by highlighting the game’s global appeal, promoting fantastic venues, and constantly improving how the sport is experienced.

We’re proud to have played a part in the DP World Tour’s growth and evolution over the past 14 years. As we continue to invest in new technology and refine our delivery, we’re excited to support the next chapter of the Tour; and help shape the future of golf on a truly global stage.
