When Lana Del Rey brought her much-anticipated 2025 European tour to the UK and Ireland, Creative Technology (CT) was entrusted with delivering the full LED and projection package for six sold-out stadium shows. From Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and Glasgow’s Hampden Park to Liverpool’s Anfield, Dublin’s Aviva, and two spectacular nights at London’s Wembley, CT’s technical expertise helped bring Lana’s creative vision to life.

Leading the delivery, Project Manager Tesni Kerens oversaw every stage from pre-production through to on-site build and operation, ensuring the production ran seamlessly from city to city. Tesni’s connection to the Lana Del Rey team began the previous year, when she managed projection elements for Reading & Leeds and Paris performances. That earlier collaboration built trust with the tour’s creative crew, making her the natural choice to head CT’s role on this stadium run.

From Love of Live Music to Large-Scale Project Management

Tesni’s route into the live events industry began with a love of music and a fascination for how large-scale performances come together. Her first job was behind the bar at her local theatre, where she observed the constant flow of productions and crews.

This early exposure inspired her to pursue formal training at Backstage Academy (now the Academy of Live Technology at Production Park), where she studied live events while also gaining hands-on experience at festivals and on local crew calls.

“That variety was invaluable,” she explains. “My goal was never to be a lighting tech or a Stage Manager, but every role taught me something and connected me with people who shaped my career.”

Bringing the Vision to Life

For the 2025 tour, CT’s LED package featured towering upstage screens delivering high-resolution live camera feeds and cinematic content. Projection mapping added an extra visual layer, moving between atmospheric, dreamlike imagery and bold, dynamic sequences that mirrored the pace and emotion of the setlist. The design had to adapt to varying stadium environments and weather conditions, ensuring every audience member, from the front row to the highest tier, experienced the same visual impact.

Working closely with Lana’s creative director and touring video team, CT fine-tuned each visual element, so it complemented the lighting design, staging, and live camera work, helping to create a cohesive and immersive audience experience.

Delivering the Technical Operation

On the road, Tesni was responsible for ensuring CT’s LED and projection systems were built, tested, and ready to perform at each venue. This required close coordination with CT’s Head of Department for LED, the stage management team, and local crews. With only 48 to 72 hours between shows, careful planning of trucking schedules, crew deployment, and venue access was essential.

“We had our own load-in and load-out pow-wows and debriefs,” Tesni says. “Having a strong leader on the LED team, Sean Brown, meant I could focus on my priorities knowing the technical side was in capable hands.”

Championing Women in Technical Production

While female representation in event production has improved, Tesni acknowledges that assumptions about women’s capabilities can still be an obstacle. “Assume your female colleague can, not that they can’t,” she advises. “Give them the same opportunities and create a team where they can thrive, you won’t regret it.”

She notes encouraging progress, particularly in production and coordination roles, and hopes to see more women step into technical operation and touring positions. Her advice to those starting out is simple: “Put your hand up, take every opportunity, and be a decent person. Attitude is everything.”

A Career Landmark

For Tesni, the Lana Del Rey stadium tour was a landmark project. “Leading a production of this scale, with such a talented and dedicated team, was incredibly rewarding. Delivering the show night after night in some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest stadiums is something I’m extremely proud of.”

For Creative Technology, the project was a chance to showcase world-class technical delivery while demonstrating the value of skilled, collaborative leadership. With professionals like Tesni driving productions forward, CT continues to set the standard for creativity, precision, and innovation, proving that unforgettable shows are built on more than what the audience sees; they’re the product of meticulous planning and exceptional teamwork behind the scenes.

This achievement reflects Tesni’s growth and dedication. As Dom Hill, Head of Project Management, put it:

“Since moving from Project Support into the PM team, Tesni has gone from strength to strength, consistently proving her ability. Meticulously planning a tour of this scale was a huge personal achievement and a testament to her dedication and skill. Her heart lies firmly in the music industry, where she has worked tirelessly to carve out her place and thrive in what is still a male-dominated field.”
