Recently, we hosted two days of Megapixel training at The RDS, bringing together a mix of Creative Technology team members and trusted freelancers. Rather than a high-level overview, the focus was on depth, ensuring everyone on site is aligned on how we design, build and deliver LED solutions, powered by Megapixel in real-world conditions.
Leading these sessions was Brian Schmucker, product specialist from Megapixel who worked closely with our crews throughout the training. This direct access to manufacturer expertise allowed for deeper technical discussion, practical insight and informed problem-solving, bridging the gap between specification and application.
From best-practice workflows to fault finding and system optimisation, the training reflected the realities of live environments, reinforcing confidence across teams and ensuring a shared technical language on site.
Training designed for delivery at scale.
For us, training is never theoretical. The sessions were built around practical challenges our teams face across live events, touring and permanent installations. By aligning internal teams and freelancers around the same standards and processes, we strengthen our ability to scale quickly while maintaining consistency and quality across every project.
This investment ensures our crews are technically capable, adaptable and ready to deliver, regardless of complexity or timeline.
The RDS: a venue with character and capability
Hosting the training in The RDS added a distinctive layer to the experience. The venue’s unique architecture, scale and atmosphere provided an inspiring backdrop, while also offering the technical flexibility required for hands-on training.
Our ongoing relationship with the RDS spans multiple projects and disciplines, and this space in particular is a strong example of how heritage venues can successfully support modern, technically demanding productions. Working within a live venue environment mirrors the conditions our teams operate in daily, making it a fitting and valuable setting for this kind of learning.
As we prepare for the year ahead, sessions like this play a vital role in maintaining the standards our clients expect. By investing in training, collaborating closely with technology partners like Megapixel, and strengthening relationships with venues such as the RDS, we continue to build the capability needed to deliver exceptional experiences at scale.
Thanks to everyone involved, and to the RDS for hosting us in such a distinctive and adaptable space.
