Working closely with our client Real Nation, and the team at Breakthrough Cancer Research, we provided the technical infrastructure that allowed the exhibition’s stories to be told with impact and clarity.
Our Live Events and Systems Integration teams collaborated to design, engineer and deliver an AV solution across each exhibition zone, ensuring each section could engage audiences in different ways.
Visuals
– Visitors could interact with the exhibition through touchscreen displays that made complex cancer biology and ongoing research accessible and engaging. By shifting the experience from passive observation to active participation, these elements helped science feel more personal and relatable.
– Projection played a central role in visual storytelling, transforming difficult scientific concepts into large-scale imagery. This approach allowed research data to be experienced not just as information, but as something visitors could connect with on both an intellectual and emotional level.
Audio & control
– Sound was treated with equal care. Directional speakers and sound showers created intimate listening spaces, where personal testimonies could be heard clearly without disturbing the wider flow of the exhibition. These moments offered visitors the chance to pause, listen, and reflect in a shared yet private way.
– Behind the scenes, media players and control systems ensured content was delivered smoothly and consistently across every zone, maintaining the rhythm of the exhibition journey. To protect the integrity of the space, custom mounts, stands, and carefully routed cabling were discreetly integrated, keeping the technology invisible so that the focus remained firmly on the stories and science being told.
Project Management
With multiple zones to coordinate and a tight installation window, this project demanded careful planning. Our project leads, Frank Whelan & Donal O’Meara, worked hand-in-hand with Real Nation to oversee every technical detail. By staying proactive and solution-focused, we removed the stress of managing technical delivery, giving the client confidence that everything was under control. This meant Real Nation and Breakthrough Cancer Research could concentrate fully on shaping the exhibition content and visitor experience.
It was a pleasure to support this amazing charity by delivering this innovative and incredibly worthwhile project, together with our System Install team. It’s a charity that is close to my own heart as one of the many millions of people who have had their lives turned upside-down by being either diagnosed with Cancer, or by seeing a loved-one suffer from the disease.
