This year’s show attracted tens of thousands of visitors, who came to witness equestrian competitions and experience the strong social atmosphere the event has always been known for. The technical setup for the show was an intricate project, requiring detailed planning and execution to ensure a seamless experience for both participants and attendees. The setup began on the 22nd of July, giving our team three weeks to fully prepare the venue for the event.

The Details
Three of our ROE BP2V2 LED screens were installed in the main arena to provide high-definition live feeds of the equestrian events, as well as displaying relevant scoreboards. These screens, known for their exceptional brightness and colour accuracy, ensured that every spectator had a clear view of the action, regardless of their seating location.
An ABSEN X5 LED screen was positioned by Industries Hall, catering to the two smaller arena and attendees in this area, alongside two additional LED trailers around the venue, which displayed event schedules, live updates, and promotional content, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Broadcast Facility & Content Management
One of our Outside Broadcasting (OB) vans was stationed outside the main arena to provide a direct feed to various media outlets. This setup was bespoke designed to suit the demands of the horse show, and allowed broadcasters to deliver live coverage of the event to viewers around the world, showcasing the best of the Dublin Horse Show.
Also stationed in the OB van were our advanced media servers, which were utilised to manage the distribution of the live content to the various screens around the venue. These servers ensured real-time synchronisation of video feeds, allowing for dynamic content management throughout the event.
UHD Displays & Audio
A range of our Ultra High Definition (UHD) display screens were strategically placed around the venue, including in common areas, VIP lounges, and inside the various stalls & shopfronts. These screens displayed a range of event footage, advertisements, and key information, keeping attendees engaged and informed.
Utilising the existing installed PA system in the main arena, alongside our trusted NEXO system, we provided a crystal clear audio network, which spanned across the entire 42 acres of the RDS.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the main challenges was the ultimate scale of the production and the need to ensure that all technical elements were fully operational across a large, outdoor venue. The team employed a phased approach to the build, beginning with the most critical installations in the main arena and working outwards to the other areas.
In-depth testing of all systems was conducted prior to the event to identify and resolve any potential issues.
The unpredictability of Irish weather posed another challenge, particularly for the outdoor setups. All outdoor screens and equipment were secured with weather-resistant materials, and backup systems were in place to ensure continuous operation in case of technical difficulties.
