From Training to Career Pathways

Creative Technology partnered with MDLBEAST on its BeastED initiative, launched in 2024, to deliver intensive AV workshops at the Riyadh facility. The program exceeded expectations, with many participants swiftly securing roles across the Kingdom’s fast-growing event industry. Its success has created strong demand for a more comprehensive and expanded program in 2025.

BeastED has evolved from workshop-style training to a complete career pipeline addressing real industry needs. Martin Hall, KSA General Manager at Creative Technology Saudi Arabia, explains, “Last year proved that hands-on experience creates exceptional results. The 2025 program builds complete career trajectories, not just technical skills.”

The curriculum directly addresses employer demands rather than academic theory, ensuring immediate job relevance.

Real-World Learning at Creative Technology

Creative Technology provided equipment that allowed the working facility to function as a working laboratory where students operate LED screen configurations, complex audio setups, and professional rigging systems. Unlike traditional classroom learning, students graduate having actually run the equipment they’ll use professionally.

Senior Industry Mentorship

Andy Reardon, President of Live Events at CT Middle East, shared his career journey in a talk with students, demonstrating how technical skills translate into industry leadership. This engagement helps students understand not just the “how” but also the “why” behind their training, connecting daily tasks to broader industry strategy.

The combination of hands-on technical training with senior leadership insights creates a rich constructivist learning environment where students build knowledge through multiple authentic interactions with industry expertise in addition to their hands-on experiential learning.

Program Director's Vision: Building Saudi Arabia's Entertainment Future

Melanie Lemnios, Program Director at BeastED, brings a clear vision to the initiative that extends far beyond traditional education models. Her approach reflects a deep understanding of both industry needs and the Kingdom’s strategic objectives.

Addressing Critical Industry Gaps

“We developed BeastED and the Career Path Program as a way to increase the quantity of skilled individuals, attract new people to the growing event industry in Saudi Arabia, and provide a clear path to employment within the events and live entertainment industry in KSA,” explains Lemnios. “This targeted approach addresses one of the most pressing challenges facing Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector: the need for qualified local talent to support rapid industry expansion.”

The program operates on three fundamental pillars that guide every aspect of curriculum development and student engagement:

  • Raise Awareness and Foster Enthusiasm for the Event Industry – Creating excitement and understanding about career opportunities in entertainment production
  • Teach Basic Skills and Build Confidence – Providing practical, immediately applicable knowledge that prepares students for real-world challenges
  • Empower and Support Alumni Entering the Local Workforce – Ensuring graduates have the tools and support needed for successful career transitions

Measuring Success Through Real-World Impact

For Lemnios and her team, success metrics go beyond traditional educational assessments. “Our measure of success is literally seeing our alumni working on-site at projects and on events throughout the Kingdom,” she states. This practical approach to evaluation reflects the program’s commitment to tangible career outcomes rather than academic achievements alone.

The evidence of this success is visible across Saudi Arabia’s entertainment landscape, where BeastED graduates are contributing to major events and productions. Industry feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with employers consistently highlighting specific qualities that set these graduates apart.

Strategic Partnership Development

The collaboration between BeastED and Creative Technology emerged from a natural alignment of expertise and educational needs. “All of our courses are taught by industry experts who have a deep knowledge and background in events and their specific field. When it comes to live event AVL that is CTME. So they were the perfect partner for our Stage Production Focused Study Course,” notes Lemnios.

This partnership represents more than a typical educational arrangement—it’s a strategic alliance that benefits both organizations while serving the broader industry development goals of Vision 2030.

Transforming Theory into Practice

The value of Creative Technology’s involvement extends beyond equipment access to encompass methodology and real-world application. “CT provided the kit that the students actually used to bring the classroom training we taught to life. For us, hands-on learning is key, and CTME helped us achieve that,” explains Lemnios.

The practical nature of this training cannot be overstated. While many educational programs focus on theory, the CTME x BeastED collaboration ensures students graduate with actual experience on professional-grade equipment. This approach has proven its worth, with 2024 participants already contributing to major events across the Kingdom.

Competitive Advantage in the Job Market

The benefits of this hands-on approach become immediately apparent when graduates enter the workforce. “Students who have graduated and are out in the job market in the field have a basic understanding of the work they are being asked to do. They are coming into these new job opportunities with a core foundation and knowledge base, which puts them a step ahead before they even start on day one,” Lemnios observes.

This preparation advantage translates into faster integration, reduced training costs for employers, and more confident, capable professionals contributing to Saudi Arabia’s entertainment industry growth.

Industry Impact and Future Growth

Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector requires skilled local professionals to support ambitious projects. Each BeastED graduate reduces dependence on international contractors while building domestic expertise.

Creative Technology’s educational investment serves dual purposes: developing the workforce they need while strengthening Saudi Arabia’s event production capabilities. By training students on the same systems used in global operations, CTME ensures seamless career transitions.

2025 Program Registration

The 2025 Career Path Program alongside Creative Technology’s participation in the upcoming Soundstorm Job Expo aligns with CT’s long-term aspirations of supporting the market with qualified Saudi youth. This year’s focus shifts from concept validation to scaled impact, measuring success through career advancement and industry contribution rather than just completion rates.

The partnership between Creative Technology and BeastED demonstrates that industry growth comes from developing local expertise, not importing it. As Saudi Arabia transforms into a global entertainment destination, programs like these ensure the Kingdom’s ambitions are supported by homegrown talent capable of delivering world-class results.
