Creative Technology (CTME), a global leader in live events and systems integration technology solutions, continues to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice through its innovative educational outreach initiatives.

In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, bridging the gap between education and industry experience has become increasingly crucial. Creative Technology (CTME) has embraced this responsibility through a series of thoughtful educational initiatives aimed at supporting and mentoring the next generation of industry professionals and technicians. In an industry where technological innovation outpaces formal education, Creative Technology is redefining corporate responsibility through an ambitious educational outreach effort has quietly become the gold standard for industry-academia collaboration. The company has embarked on what can be described as “knowledge democratization”—systematically sharing expertise that was once guarded as a competitive advantage against competitors.

Industry Experts Share Knowledge with the American University of Dubai

Recently, CT’s Head of Technical at Creative Technology Middle East, Tom Stocks, and Head of Video at CTME, Carlos Aguilar, visited the American University of Dubai to deliver a specialized lecture on projection mapping, offering students a rare opportunity to learn directly from seasoned industry professionals. Professor Serena Abou Daher at AUD, who coordinated the lecture series, emphasized the educational value of such experiences: “Exposing digital media students to the different aspects of live events allows them to explore possibilities and career paths that had previously been outside their awareness.” The presentation went beyond theoretical concepts, providing students with case studies from real-world contexts that traditional academic settings often cannot replicate. Students were given insights into the technical complexities of projection mapping technology and its creative applications in live events.

Hands-On Learning Experiences

Beyond the classroom, Creative Technology has opened its doors to educational institutions. In a recent initiative, CTME hosted students from SPAA, Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, providing them with valuable hands-on experience with LED technology. The practical session allowed students to work directly with professional-grade equipment. The students practiced on ROE Screens Vanish V8T with NovaStar processors and learned to install Roe strips with Brompton processors. The students received certificates after completing the masterclass.

What makes Creative Technology’s approach particularly noteworthy is pushing beyond the engagement that characterizes many corporate social responsibility efforts.

Along with the predictable donation of equipment to schools, the company deploys its most valuable assets—its senior technical experts and their accumulated wisdom. Jackson Lopez from SPAA commented and thanked the CTME team for hosting the LED Masterclass and said that “it was great spending time in a professional environment with work happening in the background while they were in the session. This experience gives the students insight into the day-to-day operations outside academic productions.”

Corporate Social Responsibility in Action

In a sector where qualified technicians remain relatively scarce despite growing demand, the company’s educational initiatives prove as innovative as its technical solutions. By facilitating knowledge transfer to local talent, CT is investing in the industry’s future while fulfilling its responsibility to the broader community.

The value CT places on disseminating expertise reflects a forward-thinking approach to business that extends beyond immediate commercial interests. When most companies talk about investing in the future, they mean next quarter’s profits. Whereas Creative Technology is forward-thinking in the future by empowering the people who may define this industry for decades to come. By nurturing talent and sharing knowledge, Creative Technology is helping to ensure the continued growth and innovation of the industry as a whole. As technology continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, initiatives like these provide invaluable opportunities for students to gain insights from industry leaders and develop the practical skills necessary for success in tomorrow’s technological landscape in the live events industry.
