Two Wins, One Unforgettable Night

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Creative Technology Middle East proudly took home two prestigious accolades at the Middle East Event Awards, held on 19 June 2025 at Madinat Jumeirah. The wins highlight how advanced audiovisual technology is reshaping entertainment across the Gulf region—and how Creative Technology continues to play a vital role in that transformation.

The company was awarded ‘Best Light and Sound’ for the Harry Potter Experience in Riyadh, KSA, and ‘Best Video Solution’ for the Liwa Tal Moreeb Festival, underscoring CT’s ability to deliver standout technical solutions in a highly competitive market where cultural relevance and innovation must go hand in hand.

As a global business with a local footprint, Creative Technology brings together expert professionals from around the world—combining international expertise with nuanced regional understanding to deliver events that are both technically exceptional and culturally attuned.

Magic through Engineering

When it comes to The Harry Potter Experience in Riyadh, Creative Technology delivered an extraordinary technical production. The team deployed 320 L-Acoustics speakers across 340 individually routed audio channels, all synchronized with nearly 3,000 LED fixtures to create what visitors described as a truly magical and immersive environment.

The real enchantment, however, came from the invisible, seamless technology that brought the world of Hogwarts to life for more than 500,000 attendees over the course of the event that ran from November 28, 2024, to January 27, 2025. Behind the scenes, Creative Technology’s precision and innovation ensured an experience that felt effortless to guests but was underpinned by complex, expertly managed systems.

Sam Gilbert, Director at Leaders Production, praised the collaboration, saying:

“Their expertise is truly impressive, but it’s Creative Technology’s professionalism and technical skillset that makes them second to none within the industry.”

Turning Dunes Into Screens: The World's Largest Desert Canvas

In contrast, the Liwa Tal Moreeb Festival was a bold demonstration of Creative Technology’s capacity for large-scale technical innovation. The team deployed 78 Panasonic RQ35 projectors to illuminate what may be one of the world’s largest projection surfaces—13,200 square meters of content mapped directly onto the towering, 300-meter-high Tal Moreeb sand dune.

This ambitious solution transformed the desert landscape into a living digital canvas, capable of displaying both immersive cultural storytelling and real-time competition data throughout the festival’s 25-day run. Drawing more than 120,000 visitors, the event blended heritage with cutting-edge tech in a truly spectacular setting.

From a technical standpoint, achieving crystal-clear projection on a shifting sand surface the size of a football field presented a unique challenge. Daily recalibration of the massive projector array was essential due to constant changes in the dune’s contours. In addition, the extreme desert conditions demanded custom-designed cooling systems and specialized environmental enclosures to ensure equipment reliability and performance—an engineering feat that only a team with deep expertise could deliver.

Setting the Standard: How Technology is Reshaping Middle Eastern Entertainment

This double win at the Middle East Event Awards highlights Creative Technology’s role as a trusted partner in a region that is rapidly investing in its entertainment and cultural infrastructure. As Gulf nations continue to diversify their economies through tourism and large-scale events, technology providers like Creative Technology are helping shape experiences that are both innovative and culturally resonant.

These awards reflect a broader shift in the region’s events industry—one that embraces world-class technical standards while celebrating local identity. The success of both installations is a testament to how thoughtfully applied technology can elevate cultural storytelling, enhancing the experience without overshadowing its essence. In a region where tradition and innovation coexist, this approach is not only relevant but essential.
