How CTME Transformed Lusail International Circuit Ahead of F1 Qatar Grand Prix 2025

Creative Technology delivers a comprehensive refresh of the circuit’s permanent and semi-permanent AVL systems at Lusail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar.

This ambitious transformation at Lusail International Circuit was guided by a clear objective: to position LIC as a premium global destination for motorsport fans by elevating visual communication, sharpening race-day operations, and creating a smoother, more engaging spectator journey from the moment guests arrive. In close partnership with the Circuit, CTME introduced an all-new lineup of LED towers that now anchors the digital arrival sequence. Engineered for long-term outdoor resilience and maximum visibility, the lineup spans seven-meter structures with 35-square-meter LED faces, versatile five-meter mid-tower units, and compact three-meter versions for tighter zones. Purpose-built for digital signage, sponsor messaging, race data, and live updates, these towers deliver a unified, modernized identity that sets the tone for the entire venue experience.

Among the most striking permanent upgrades is the new 56-metre LED Access Control Wall, a monumental digital canvas positioned along one of the circuit’s key guest and team entry points.

Stretching 56 meters wide and 2 meters high is a seamless ribbon of motion graphics and high-density visual data, creating a commanding first impression and reinforcing the circuit’s enhanced digital identity.

Transforming Operations with 4K Projection and Intelligent LED Totems

Inside the Administration and Commentary buildings, CTME delivered a 4K projection and media distribution ecosystem. The set up includes twenty-two Panasonic PT-RQ35K projectors, driven by Disguise.

Outside, in key public zones, CTME introduced three towering LED totems, each standing nine meters tall and combining a 200 sqm of LED canvas with integrated lighting from Elation Proteus Excalibur and Robe iBolt fixtures, all managed through GrandMA3 control. Beyond delivering clear guest information, these vertical landmarks inject dynamic visual energy into the space while improving crowd-flow safety at peak traffic periods.

Each totem features a 420 × 1512-pixel LED display built from 45 tiles per face, drawing a maximum of 20A (3ø) and weighing approximately 1,259 kg. To guarantee uninterrupted performance, CTME deployed a total of 180 active P4.8 LED tiles supported by 30 spares, ensuring full redundancy throughout the event.

Enhanced Lighting Systems for Improved Visibility and Visual Identity

Creative Technology further expanded the venue’s lighting infrastructure with a broad rollout of new fixtures, replacing outdated units and improving reliability across hospitality, paddock, academy, warehouse, and helipad areas. The upgrades include Elation KL PAR FC IP units, Astera Titan Tubes, Ayrton Kyalami fixtures, Proplex 8Track distribution, and extended GrandMA3 control systems. Each area was enhanced with a tailored lighting solution suited to its operational needs, resulting in improved color uniformity, a stronger visual identity that aligns with the overall branding of the circuit, and improved nighttime visibility across the entire circuit.

The lighting enhancements included:

Hospitality & Paddock: 42 KL PAR FC IP fixtures, 85 Titan Tubes, 31 KL PAR Barndoors, and 12 Ayrton Kyalami fixtures, all controlled via a GrandMA3 Light console.
Academy & Warehouse: 29 KL PAR FC IP fixtures, 30 KL PAR barndoors, a GrandMA3 Light console, and 4 Proplex 8Track units for reliable data distribution.
Helipad: 20 Ayrton Rivale Wash fixtures and 20 Elation Proteus Maximus fixtures, managed via a GrandMA3 Full Size console to achieve powerful, aviation-safe illumination.
