In a stunning display of cultural fusion, the historic Murabba Palace in Riyadh has become the canvas for an unprecedented artistic collaboration, melding traditional Saudi artistry with cutting-edge projection technology. As part of Noor Riyadh 2024, Saudi Arabia’s ambitious light festival, this architectural landmark now serves as a nocturnal beacon, showcasing the nation’s journey from its historical roots to its technological future.
At the heart of this transformation lies the work of Saudi artist Ali AlRuzaizah, whose piece “A Part of a Human Life” has been reimagined on an architectural scale. Through the technical mastery of Industrial Projection and Visual Edge Media, AlRuzaizah’s intimate exploration of human experience has been elevated to monumental proportions, washing across the palace’s historic façade in a symphony of light and motion. The adaptation, overseen by Visual Edge Media’s Creative Director Rob Currie, maintains the delicate emotional nuances of the original artwork while introducing a dynamic new dimension to its narrative. The delivery of this project was led by Project Manager Dan Hughes at Creative Technology.
