Thousands of visitors came together for the 55th edition of Pinkpop, the largest three-day music festival in the Netherlands. With a line-up including The Cure, Foo Fighters, Roxy Dekker and Bente, the festival offered a mix of international headliners and Dutch talent. As trusted video partner, we delivered the technical solutions for the stages, a mobile screen for the World Cup match and a safety system for the visitors.
We’ve been Pinkpop’s trusted video partner for years, delivering video solutions for the different stages.
Stage North is one of Pinkpop’s main stages. For this stage, we built IMAG screens on either side of the stage, each 71m², for live close-ups of the artists. Behind the stage, a 100m² LED backdrop completed the setup. For front of house, we set up a camera control system including a portable production unit (PPU) and multiple cameras, producing the footage for the IMAG screens.
Stage South is Pinkpop’s largest stage. IMAG screens of 104m² stood on either side of the stage for live close-ups of the artists, with a 128m² LED backdrop behind them. For front of house, we supplied processors and a switcher to control the screens.
Stage Tent is Pinkpop’s only covered stage. Here, we built a 60m² LED screen, controlled by processors and a switcher we supplied for this stage.
On Saturday, visitors could also watch the Netherlands vs Sweden match. For this, we supplied a 50m² mobile LED screen, so fans didn’t have to miss the game.
Besides the artist area, we also placed LCD screens backstage and at various bars. This way, both crew and guests could access the right information in the right places.
Alongside all the screens for the stages, we also built the Visual Crowd Information System (VCIS). This allows the festival organisation to share safety-related information with visitors, such as a reminder to drink enough water during extreme heat. Multiple screens placed across the site show only this safety information. In case of emergency, we can also display this information on the stage screens. We also installed the data network connecting all screens to the VCIS.
