Background. 

Historically, CT has been contracted by the DP World Tour to provide customised TTV services, primarily in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. However, the nature of events in Asia has often limited the scope of services offered. For the 2024 Genesis Championship, the organizers recognised the importance of delivering an exceptional visual experience for both spectators and hospitality guests. Consequently, they requested CT’s full TTV service for the first time in the Asian market.

Objectives.

• Provide an engaging mix of live golf coverage, highlights, and player interviews to captivate audiences. 

• Ensure real-time scoring and event updates are easily accessible through innovative graphical displays. 

• Establish a strong infrastructure to support high-quality broadcasts across multiple screens and locations. 

Fiber and IPTV Network Management

To keep the TTV program running smoothly, CT set up a complete fiber and IPTV network. This setup was essential for transmitting feeds across the golf course, making it possible to: 

• Real-Time Updates: Leaderboard and scoring information displayed across all hospitality areas. 

• Connectivity: Reliable transmission to every display, enhancing viewer experience throughout the venue. 

Display Setup.

CT provided a variety of display solutions tailored to the needs of the event: 

• Hospitality TVs: A range of 32” to 65” screens were installed across hospitality and office units, ensuring every guest had access to live feeds. 

• On-Course LED Screens: Five large leaderboards (2m x 2m) showcased player standings, complemented by a main LED screen (7m x 4m) positioned strategically on the 18th green to engage fans in the Genesis Pavilions. 

Team Composition.

To execute this ambitious project, CT’s crew included: 

• UK Golf Team Leaders: Two senior team members from CT UK brought their expertise in golf event broadcasting. 

• Local Engineering Support: A dedicated team from CT’s Seoul office provided on-the-ground support, ensuring all local installations met the event’s high standards. 

The Genesis Championship 2024 showcased the potential of CT’s comprehensive Tournament Television service beyond its traditional markets. By combining advanced technology with local expertise, CT not only met but exceeded the expectations of the DP World Tour and its audience.
