We have expanded our design department!

The last couple of years CT Norway has seen an unfulfilled need in the industry. A need for drawings, both technically precise, and visually exciting and engaging. Therefore, we have now strengthened our team by hiring a new drawer and renderer to our design department – Sindre Steig. Sindre has worked with us in CT for over 3 years, but as a freelancer. This autumn he started in a permanent position as a part of our design department, and we are thrilled to have him on the team!

Get a visual impression of your event, long before it starts

Sindre’s work will consist of everything from technical drawings to fully-fledged renders that will be used in offers to our clients. With the help of software such as Blender, Cinema 4D, VectorWorks, Depence and Adobe Creative Suite, we can create digital versions of any event imaginable – which gives a good and precise impression of what your event will look like, early in the process.

“When we’re creating an offer for a client, it’s useful for us to be able to give a visual impression of the finished product – this being everything from a concert to a corporate event. That’s where I come in. I create these visual renders, so that the client can give their input and request changes well in advance of the physical event. This makes it possible for us to create a product that makes everyone happy,” says Sindre.

By using these visual renders, we can ensure that we are on the same page as you are. Changes will also be easier to get done prior to the event, and both you, as the client, and we, as the supplier, can be sure that you receive exactly what you had imagined.

«It’s important for us to have good recourses when it comes to drawing and visualization, because we know that a lot of our clients wants an impression of how their events is going to look and work, a long time before it actually happens. Nice visualizations provide everyone involved good insight into concept and expression – it also makes it possible to create graphics that suits the stage it’s being shown on. This makes planning easier, and gives us the opportunity to tell better stories,” says Hans Peter Jenssen, Rental Operations Manager in CT Norway.

The road ahead

2D-images of your event helps you get a good understanding of how it will end up looking, but what if we take all of this one step further? Imagine being able to physically enter your next event. Well, almost, at least.

In addition to creating technical drawings and renders of different events, our design department has also started looking into both VR and AR. VR, virtual reality, and AR, alternate reality, are technologies that have existed for a while, but haven’t been implemented as well as they should in our industry. This has become a large focus for us in CT Norway.

“If we want you to have the best possible impression of your project, we have to implement AR and VR in our work. Even though the technology has been around for a while, it still has a long way to go to max out its potential when it comes to quality. In the 2D-world a 1920px image will be enough to give you a good and realistic impression. But when we enter the VR-world, it requires up to 8K to give the same feeling, simply because the pixles have to fill up your whole line of sight,” says Sindre.

Our goal is that you, as our client, and with the help of VR, will be able to put on a headset and be brought into a photorealistic version of your event, long before it’s actually happening. Here you will be able to look at your surroundings, feel the atmosphere and be sure that you will achieve what you want to achieve – no matter if it’s a concert, a corportate event, a greenroom or whatever your next event is. We want to be able to invite our clients to our offices as early as in the design phase, have them experience their own event, and collaborate with us to achieve the exact result they desire. VR will play a big part of this process in the future.

AR gives us even more possibilities, even earlier in the creation of your next event. This is what Sindre has to say about the possibilities we are looking into regarding AR:

“The nice thing about AR is that we, as the supplier, as early as the first visit to the event’s location, will be able to test stuff out. You will be able to look at your surroundings, and place 3D-elements around the room. This will reassure us that we are on the same page as the client, from the beginning of the project,”.

The future is looking bright, and we can’t wait to explore more in our field. Sindre Steig is going to be a large part of this exploration at CT Norway, and we are very happy that he has joined the team!
