Installing the LED environment behind Amazon’s new era of live sports

The Challenge:

Engineer and install a large-scale LED system that could instantly transform environments while maintaining broadcast-level precision and in-camera realism—including an LED court that not only looked authentic on screen but also played like the real thing.

Our Approach:

Collaborate closely with the client, designer, rigging team, and LED manufacturer to configure and install the ideal LED products—balancing authentic feel for players, easy serviceability for Amazon’s on-site team, and high-resolution performance that translates flawlessly on camera.

“We don’t try to put stuff on the screen just to show that we can do it. We [use it to] help inform and better educate and provide deeper insights to fans at home.”
– Jared Stacy, VP/head of worldwide live sports production, Prime Video.

The finished studio debuted live during Amazon’s first NBA doubleheader broadcast — instantly setting a new standard for sports presentation. The LED court enables analysts to step onto a regulation floor surrounded by dynamic visuals of NBA arenas, real-time data visualizations, and branded environments — all rendered in-camera.

This build didn’t just enhance the on-screen product — it transformed how live sports studios operate, merging entertainment design with virtual production technology. As Amazon’s global coverage expands to 220+ countries and 12 languages, this studio remains the visual and technical heart of the operation — and a testament to the collaboration between teams.
